In a significant stride towards revolutionizing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Kenya, a dynamic team from Kabarak University TVET Institute, led by Dr. Daniel Mutai, Executive Director, and Ms. Faith Yator, Deputy Director, actively participated in a pivotal workshop hosted at the Kenya School of TVET on the 14th and 15th of December 2023. The primary focus of the workshop was the release of the July/August 2023 Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) exams and strategic discussions on how to enhance collaboration with stakeholders for the optimal implementation of the CBET program.
The esteemed presence of Hon. Ezekiel Machogu, Cabinet Secretary for Education, and the Principal Secretary of the State Department for TVET, Ministry of Education, Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria, PhD, a prominent figure in the education sector, passionately addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of taking the CBET program seriously and fostering a collaborative team spirit. Her words resonated with the shared commitment of the workshop participants to elevate the standards of TVET in Kenya.
Crucially, industry players also attended the workshop, underscoring the holistic approach taken to bridge the gap between academia and real-world skills requirements.
