This Valentine's Day, Kabarak University TVET Institute extended love beyond chocolates and flowers by empowering the young girls of Crater View Secondary School in Nakuru County. The special visit on Friday, February 14, 2025, was a heartfelt initiative aimed at supporting and uplifting the students through mentorship and essential donations.
In the spirit of love and community service, staff and students from Kabarak University TVET Institute dedicated their time to empowering and inspiring the girls at Crater View Secondary School. The team, led by Dr. Faith Yator, Deputy Director of Kabarak University TVET Institute, emphasized the importance of education and self-confidence among young women. Dr. Yator, a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, champions the #SupportANeedyGirlGoToSchool initiative, ensuring that girls from disadvantaged backgrounds have the resources they need to thrive academically.
Recognizing the challenges many young girls face in accessing essential hygiene products, the TVET Institute took this opportunity to donate sanitary pads, ensuring that the students can focus on their education without barriers. The support came from female students and male counterparts at TVET, reinforcing the message that gender inclusivity is key to community development.
The event also featured a powerful engagement session with Mercy, a Kabarak University TVET Institute student who shared her journey and encouraged the girls to pursue their dreams fearlessly.
Kabarak University TVET Institute extends its deepest appreciation to the Deputy Principal of Crater View Secondary School for the warm reception and collaboration. This event marked a meaningful step towards fostering a culture of empowerment, support, and shared responsibility in nurturing future leaders.
As we reflect on this memorable Valentine's Day, we reaffirm our commitment to making a difference—one act of kindness at a time.
