On Friday, July 5, 2024, Kabarak University TVET Institute took its learning a step further – straight into the heart of the industry. A group of eager Mechanical Engineering students embarked on a thrilling visit to a local engineering institution in Nakuru. Here, they weren't just observing – they were actively engaged, firing questions at industry mechanics and gaining firsthand experience with a whole range of incredible machinery.
From the intricate workings of a Lathe Work machine to the power of a Milling machine, these students got up close and personal with the tools that shape our world. They even put their newfound knowledge to the test, performing tasks like threading, taper turning, and even cutting gear types on the milling machine.
But the learning didn't stop there! Our Automotive Engineering students also hit the road, visiting one of Nakuru's leading garages. Here, they delved into the fascinating world of car maintenance, gaining valuable insights into servicing the steering system, final drive assembly, and even the intricate details of bodywork spray painting.
These industry exposure trips are more than just a field trip – they're a bridge between theory and practice. They allow our students to see the real-world applications of their studies and ignite a passion for their chosen field. By getting their hands dirty and asking insightful questions, our students are building a strong foundation for successful careers in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.
