Yesterday, January 17, 2025, marked the second chapter of the TVET Career Day at the Nakuru City Campus—an event that exceeded expectations and underscored the institution's unwavering commitment to accessible, industry-focused education.
Hosted by the Kabarak TVET Institute under the leadership of Dr. Dan Mutai, the event was a resounding success. Over 700 attendees graced the occasion, with 500 accommodated inside the venue and an additional 200 following the proceedings from outside. The day unfolded seamlessly, with a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that left participants inspired and motivated.
The keynote address was delivered by a distinguished leader from Crown Paints, who hails from Zimbabwe and oversees operations across several countries. His presence and insights set a high standard for the event. Other notable attendees included the CEO of the Human Resource Management Professionals Examination Board (CHRMPEB) and a senior engineer from Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), alongside representatives from various esteemed organizations.
The event brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including Dandelion Africa, Google Developer Group - On Campus, KUPPRAC, Lish AI, Pixel Engineering Africa, Ecobank, KCB Bank and KCB Foundation, Access Bank, Coop Bank, KPLC, KASNEB, ICDL Africa, HRMPEB, and Crown Paints Kenya Ltd. Students and community members interacted with these industry leaders, gaining valuable insights into the career opportunities available in their respective fields.
High school students from institutions such as Kimani Ngunjiri High School, Natewa High School, Crater View Secondary School, Menengai High School, Mumtaaz Girls High School, and Njoro Day High School were also in attendance. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for them to explore career pathways and learn from the best in the industry.
