Kabarak University TVET Institute (KABU TVET) was honored to host the President of the Makena Children’s Foundation (MCF) and her delegation during a strategic visit focused on strengthening collaboration in supporting youth from vulnerable backgrounds.
The visiting team toured the Institute’s modern training facilities, gaining firsthand insight into KABU TVET’s learner-centered environment, industry-aligned programs, and commitment to equipping young people with practical, market-driven skills. The delegation expressed appreciation for the Institute’s world-class infrastructure, supportive learning atmosphere, and strong emphasis on holistic youth development.
The engagement strengthened a shared vision of expanding access to quality education, technical training, and mentorship opportunities for disadvantaged learners, enabling them to realize their full potential and pursue meaningful career pathways. Discussions explored future collaboration in education sponsorship, youth empowerment initiatives, and capacity-building programs aimed at transforming lives through skills and opportunity.

Established in 1997, the Makena Children’s Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing love, encouragement, and academic opportunities to children growing up in rural Kenya, particularly in Maraigushu near Naivasha. Through the support of generous sponsors, the Foundation has enabled dozens of vulnerable children, including orphans, to access quality education from primary school through higher education.
KABU TVET looks forward to building a strong and impactful partnership with the Makena Children’s Foundation as we continue to champion inclusive education, skills development, and youth empowerment for sustainable community transformation.
