A day of learning, growth, and excellence unfolded at Kabarak TVET Institute on 11 September 2026 as the Institute hosted Great Lakes TVET Institute for a benchmarking visit.
The visit brought together Kabarak TVET Institute and Great Lakes TVET Institute in a valuable exchange of experiences and best practices in Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET).
Great Lakes TVET Institute was represented by Principal Rosemary Osewe and Assessment Coordinator Joan Kanini Etenyi. The visit focused on sharing best practices in the implementation, management, delivery and assessment of CBET programmes, as well as quality assurance and continuous improvement in TVET training.
During the visit, the guests toured Kabarak TVET Institute’s facilities and observed the Institute’s approach to delivering quality, practical and industry-relevant training. They also had an opportunity to explore the well-equipped workshops and world-class library, which support students in developing practical, hands-on skills.
The benchmarking engagement highlighted the value of partnership, knowledge exchange and continuous learning in strengthening TVET education, training, research and innovation.
