Kabarak University TVET Institute today held a graduation ceremony at the Kabarak University City Campus Grounds, celebrating the achievements of graduands who successfully completed their training in various technical and vocational programmes.
Held under the theme “Skills in Action: Empowering Hands, Transforming Futures,” the ceremony brought together Kabarak University leadership and KABU TVET staff led by Executive Director Dr. Dan Mutai, industry partners, graduands, families, and invited guests to mark an important milestone in the lives of the graduates.
The event featured processions, prayers, presentations, and messages of encouragement that reflected the institution’s commitment to excellence in technical education and holistic development.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address by Prof. Henry Kiplangat, Vice-Chancellor of Kabarak University and Chair of the Board of Directors of the TVET Institute.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the graduands for their hard work, resilience, and dedication throughout their studies. He encouraged them to go into the world with confidence, using the practical skills and knowledge they had acquired to create solutions, uplift communities, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He emphasized that technical and vocational education remains a powerful driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic transformation, urging the graduates to embrace continuous learning, discipline, and integrity as they pursue their careers.
The Vice-Chancellor further reminded the graduands that success is not measured only by certificates, but by character, service, and the ability to positively impact society. He challenged them to become ambassadors of excellence and uphold the values instilled in them during their time at Kabarak University.
The University also acknowledged the valued partnership and continued support of Compassion International, whose collaboration has contributed to empowering students through education and skills development initiatives. The organization was represented during the ceremony by a team led by Catherine Wamitii, Senior Manager of Program Support.

The ceremony also included the presentation of graduands, commissioning of graduates, recognition of distinguished guests, and moments of appreciation for partners who continue to support skills development and training.
As the graduands marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, the ceremony served as a celebration of achievement and a powerful reminder of the role of technical education in shaping a brighter future.
Kabarak University TVET Institute continues to play a key role in equipping learners with relevant, hands-on competencies that prepare them for employment, enterprise, and leadership in a rapidly changing world.
