Innovation does not happen by chance. It begins with identifying a problem, exploring possibilities, and taking practical steps towards developing solutions. This was the focus of an engaging Innovation Byte session held today at Kabarak University TVET Institute, where students explored how to identify innovative opportunities and turn ideas into commercially viable ventures.
The session, themed around Innovation Search and Taking Ideas to the Next Level, brought together students for an interactive learning experience featuring brainstorming, creative thinking and practical discussions on developing solutions that respond to real-world challenges.
Participants explored strategies for identifying innovation opportunities, researching existing solutions, developing new ideas and connecting with companies, organisations and potential partners that can support the journey from concept to commercialisation.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of looking beyond the obvious, understanding market needs and recognising the networks and resources required to transform promising ideas into sustainable ventures.

At Kabarak University TVET Institute, innovation and practical skills development are central to preparing students for the changing world of work and entrepreneurship. Through initiatives such as Innovation Byte, students are encouraged to think critically, explore opportunities, solve problems and develop ideas with the potential to make a meaningful difference.
The Innovation Byte series will continue next week with another engaging session, providing students with further opportunities to learn, collaborate and sharpen their innovative thinking.
